In Summary

I am an accomplished Registered Professional Reporter, Certified Realtime Reporter and Certified Realtime Captioner.  From 1990 through 1999, I worked as a freelance reporter and as an official district court reporter in the 362nd District Court in Denton County, Texas.  My husband's job transfer in 1999 to Houston, Texas kindled my interest in captioning and CART opportunities.  Once in Houston I reached out to a caption company owner.  She took me under her wings and mentored me.  Within six short months, I was captioning my first assignment:  KPRC- NBC in Houston, Texas!  I was quickly over my initial shock-fear-amazement - and realized a genuine love for the captioning profession.  I “found my lane” in the profession and have never looked back.

I am actively interested in new captioning and CART opportunities. I am flexible with my scheduling. I create my magic with Stenograph’s   Broadcast Captioning Suite Software (BCS.)  I transmit my captions via TCP/IP and also through dial-up via modem to encoder. (Old Fashioned Phone Line!)  I am proficient in the following methods of transmitting closed captions:  Zoom, YouTube, iCap, WebEx, Textcast, StreamText and various encoders.  I’m very capable of quickly learning (and understanding) any new platforms that come on the scene.  I genuinely love that type of challenge.

My translation rate is excellent.  I expect and command, at minimum, 99.5% performance from myself.  I consider my talent and many opportunities a gift -  and a human miracle. I am very grateful for every challenge placed before me.  My vast experience and career diversity enable me to command a wide range of captioning endeavors.  I am an excellent candidate for your consideration.  I look forward to our correspondence.  Call me, please, even if it’s just for a quick introduction!
